How to choose a sewage flow meter

Sewage flow meter is one of the instruments that are difficult to use. It is also difficult to choose. The difficulty in choosing is not only because of the strong corrosiveness and disorder of the object it measures, but also because of its wide variety, such as electromagnetic and throttling sewage flow meters, and integrated sewage flow meters. Since the choice is so cumbersome, what aspects should we pay attention to when choosing?

How to choose a sewage flow meter

1. Have a full understanding of sewage

Before purchasing a sewage flow meter, we need to know what type of factory sewage it is. Generally, there are sewage measurements from power plants, steel mills, chemical plants, paper mills, and domestic sewage. Different sewage is suitable for different sewage flow meters. For example, paper mills use paper mill sewage flow meters. At the same time, we must have a full, detailed, and comprehensive understanding of the composition of the sewage in order to correctly select the lining and electrode materials of the sewage flow meter. For example, the degree of sewage corrosiveness, the amount of particles and debris contained. If we don’t know much about the composition of sewage, we can understand the degree of sewage corrosiveness by analyzing the material of the sewage pipe. Then select an anti-corrosion sewage flow meter according to the degree of corrosiveness.

2. Fully understand the installation conditions

The on-site environment where the sewage flow meter is to be installed also directly affects the selection of the sewage flow meter. It is also necessary to fully understand the straight pipe section in front, the interference situation on site, etc. Because different sewage flow meters have different requirements for the environment. For example, the installation of an electromagnetic flow meter requires a certain straight pipe section in front, no strong interference signal on site, and the temperature and humidity on site also need to meet certain requirements.

3. Understand the performance of flow meter

When choosing a flow meter, you must be familiar with the performance of various flow meters, and be familiar with the accuracy, repeatability, linearity, range ratio, output signal characteristics and other factors of the sewage flow meter. You must also understand the size of the sewage pipe diameter, because different flow meters have different requirements. For example, each diameter of the electromagnetic flow meter has certain requirements for the lower limit of the flow rate. When the flow rate is too small, the measurement accuracy will not match the actual. When the flow rate is too small, we generally shrink the pipe to meet the measurement requirements of the sewage flow meter.

The flow of sewage varies greatly, and the composition of sewage is not easy to measure. It contains not only various impurities but also various elements. Sewage also has certain conductivity and corrosiveness. This places very strict requirements on the various performances of sewage flow meters, so when choosing, we should take appropriate measures and conduct a full investigation of the environment and sewage in order to select the most suitable sewage flow meter.
